Videonystagmography (VNG)
Videonystagmography (VNG) is a test that evaluates the function of your inner ear and associated nerves, primarily used to detect balance and vestibular disorders. We perform binocular VNG testing which measures involuntary eye movement called nystagmus. This test records eye movements while you perform certain tasks to identify any abnormalities. It can assist in diagnosing balance disorders and dizziness, acoustic neuroma, peripheral vestibular loss, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), Traumatic brain injury (TBI) and other vestibular and central neurological disorders.
Ask your doctor for a VNG test if you have persistent dizziness, frequent falls, unsteadiness, vertigo, or suspected inner ear problems.
