Neurography

Neurography is an MRI which can image the nerves, useful for identifying and diagnosing the details of a nerve injury or painful nerve entrapment. Similar to how blood vessels are apparently in an MR Angiogram, nerve injuries and entrapments on Neurography imaging appear as bright and clear, easily distinguishable from normal nerves. This is useful for diagnosing nerve pain syndromes that may happen after traumas, especially motor vehicle accidents. For example, a common nerve pain syndrome is Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS), which affects nerves from the neck to the shoulder that control and carry pain signals from neck, shoulder, arm, and hand.

Ask your doctor today for a referral for Neurography if you experience any nerve pain. Common symptoms of nerve pain include pain, numbness, weakness, or tingling sensations and can be experienced throughout your body, depending on your specific injury.
