CT Scan (Computed Tomography)
Our 128-Slice Computed tomography (CT) scan combines X-rays and computer technology to create cross-sectional images of your body. It is especially useful for detecting internal injuries, such as bone fractures, organ damage, bleeding, bone and soft tissue abnormalities, lung problems, cardiovascular issues, and identifying tumors. Traditional X-ray machines use a fixed tube to point X-rays at a single spot. As X-rays travel through the body, they are absorbed in different amounts by different tissues. Higher density tissue creates a whiter image than other tissues against the black background of the film. X-rays produce 2D images. CT scans use a donut-shaped tube that rotates the X-ray 360 degrees around you. The data captured provides a detailed 3D view of the inside of your body.
CT Scans are a good alternative to MRI for people who have metal in their body who cannot undergo an MRI or who experience claustrophobia.
